Matariki Day

Task Description: This blog post is a google doc of what I did on matariki day and is about matariki day on friday. We were told to do this by our teacher Mrs Ilaoa because the teachers and others want to know what we did for matariki with our matariki groups and our teacher who was their to help us with. And because I wanted to share the main highlights that I did for matariki and because it was reall fun to do.

                                                                        Matariki Day

Last week on Friday we had Matariki day, we were separated into different groups and had to stay in that same group for the whole day. The group I went into was movie making in a creative space just near the office in the breece. There were 4 different activities that were movie making,ki o'rahi, cooking and crafting.  Well first we had assembly to start things off first then we went straight into our matariki groups and started doing what we were supposed to do, My teacher or leader for movie making was Mrs Langitupu. Some of us were told to  take cameras and record highlights of what other groups were doing,so what I had to do was I had to record team 2  with their video that was going up on PNN for the living earth. While the others had to make videos of them together and create it into a short movie so it can also go onto PNN. To me my experience of movie making was really fun to do and really simple because all we had to do was video them doing what they were supposed to do, they mainly did something for the matariki stars and some type of dance that has to do with the matariki stars. We had a lot of fun making those movies in the end but the thing was Mrs Langitupu never told us that our movies were going to be on PNN and for the school, so during the assembly we had a big old laugh because of our performances that we did on all of our videos. So I would say that matariki day is a really cool day and one that we can have fun together as a school.

Equal Fractions

Task Description: This blog post is from my math class in room 11&12 with our most amazing teacher Mrs Ilaoa. This blog post is about equal fractions and we are also learning about that too,we have diiferent maths work every week and I'm tring to keep up with maths because I'm always mainly doing literacy the most because it's my favourite subject but I'll try my best for maths.

Reading: Character Study

Task Discription: Todays's blog post is from my reading class in room 11&12,our teacher Mrs Ilaoa. This week we were learning all about protesters, for this task I had to do a character study about a person who was mainly in the story. The person I did character study about was Nelson Mandela because he was the first black person to become the president of South Africa.

Identifying Shapes

Task Description: Well todays blog post was meant to be posted up on my blog a few weeks ago because this was wk 6 's post but for some reason I forgot all about it so I tried finishing it before next term. This task is from my math class and we had to tell information about everysingle shapes that we use in maths, and my other reason why is because I'm not really into maths. Our math teacher is Mrs Ilaoa in room 11&12 just near the wharewhono and the top field,we also were learning meanings for the shapes and how you can identify the shapes.

Stand Up: Venn Diagram

Task Description: This blog post is apart of the same task I posted up earlier, they both are based on protesting that happened long before any of us were born like in the 19s or 18s. This is from my literacy class for reading,we were talking about protesters earlier in this month like on wk 4,5,6,7 or 8. But this one is a venn diagram, the other one was a vocabulary one so for this task I had to write similarities that happened in each of the protestings that happened,so I chose Depression Riots & Waterfront Dispute, they both have police officers involved and many other things too.

Stand Up: Vocabulary

Task Description: Todays task description is about protesting that happend back in 19s and 18s,this is part of my reading task. This was presented to us by our teacher Mrs Moala, protesting means like people going around in a big group trying to make things right or are going on a strike for something. This is a vocabulary talking about some words that was presented in the book about stand up,some words have some things to do with violents and nonviolents. The book a read about protesters was very interesting because I found out that people were going on strikes and that to make things right and to stop people from taking their lands.
