Poppie Task

Task description: This is a post also from my literacy class that me and my cousin did at home because we are in the same literacy class.We had to do a poppie but we had to be creative and use materials or something so we used leafs and others that are made out of nature. Sorry if it doesn't look like the actual poppie but aleast we tried,and that we only have photos of us doing it but only 2 one of me and one of my cousin too.

Instructions: Look for 6 large red raoti leaves and gather as many green leaves as you can 
and other stuff if you want to do a background. And sorry if there's only a little bit stuff to provide for it.

1918 flu post 2

Task description: This is a second post about the 1918 flu,that it is also for my literacy class but anyways this is just something that I had to do because it was part of my assignment. As I said for my first post about this but this one is kinda different because this my new understanding of what I know about the 1918 flu.


SYNTHESIS My new understanding of the 1918 pandemic is

That it started right after the war because they were told so that somebody either brought there or it either was already there and someone just caught.I say that wherever it came from that would be unknown to us because it might have come from the forest or the animals. Over all many people have died from this virus because whoever has it wouldn’t know but it could spread because whoever you're hanging out with might get it.

The 1918 flu is an unknown virus to me and to some others but it has a habit of plenty of things that it could do to people. But I believe that this virus can also affect animals like birds,pigs,horses and so on but some animals are just like us humans we all die from it or it starts to get more worse for us.

The 1918 flu developed into pneumonia and it turned out to been really risky and dangerous because some peoples skins were black or had suddenly turning into black,there skins would stay black for weeks but never know also for months and might actually die from it.

That people say that this came from somewhere unknown but that some believe that it came from someone who traveled to New Zealand on a boat. But I say that it was already there.

There are 3 types of viruses for the influenza virus which is called virus A,virus B and last but not least virus C.
The 3 types of viruses are things that can go on animals including humans but the animals that mainly get it are pigs,horses,birds and other animals.

Untrained volunteers had to be chosen to help those that are sick because the nurses were one of them so they went and got people and some children to help with the food.
     _    Even some boy scouts came to help but for the food they had to make soup so they got right into it and started to hand them out to the volunteers helping out so that they can give it to the patients.

That there was no medicine or special treatment for this disease at that time,so they just had to use a special spray chamber to help with their breathing.

     _     People were banned from having big parties on the street but they never listened because they wanted to celebrate that the war is over but with this virus going around those people will all be in greater risk now.

Easter learning post day 4 activity 1&2

Task description:Easter learning journey day 4 activity 1&2 post,this has been done tonight and I am sorry if it is not like my actual house but atleast I tried.Sorry again if this has been posted on the wrong date as I said for my other easter learning posts that I did but yeah,oh and sorry if it looks funky because we had to do it on a google drawing with polylines.This was an activity as I mishined up top and i will tell you the other activity for this down below this.

This is activity number 2 for day 4,it is activity or question that I have to to do along with the other stuents doing this easter learing journey. it's to pick a place or a room out of the ones that I drew down the bottom.

This is it but it is not actually my real look for my house so yeah I'm sorry if it is not the same because it is tricky to do on a google drawing doc and because the house that I tried to draw is so hard because there is 5 rooms and so on.

learning Journey Day 3 activity 1&2

Task description:This post is from the easter learning journey,It's task taking me to 3 sites that I had to complete but I had to take a look at some places by using maps to show where it is,all 3 places are in New Zealand. But This post has not been posted on the right date so I am sorry because I was not really focused on this but now I am. These posts are the first weeks post of this easter learning kourney. There will be 3 maps down to show you the places but I will tell you the name of the places.

Anyways the first place is Rangitoto Island,the second is Tane Mahutu walk and the last place is In Qweenstown Karekare.

Task description: This is a post from the easter learning journey,this is another  flag post from  day 2 and it is activity 2 and I am sorry that this has not been posted on the right day. But sorry to my teachers in team 5 for not doing this on the right day,but atleast I am posting them one by one but not on the right date. But I am still doing the others and I'll post them on as well.

Anyways this is a another post for the flag one but the flag is different this time because I changed it up because it was part of the activity 2 task. But I got to say I kind of like me second flag.

The reason why I created this one was because I am trying to use the same colour as the old flag but I changed up some bits of it because it certainly looks really different to the old flag for New Zealand. The simbol on it I added to it to make the flag really different. So this is the flag that I created for my second activity which is number 2 for day 2.

Puaki Post


Task description: This is post for my literacy class, this post is called Puaki it's about people who have ta moko's on there face and what it means to us New Zealand people. This was in room 1 team 5 block where all the seniors are. And our Literacy teacher is Mrs Moala. I have been doing this for the past few days and weeks.



One of the maori legends because Te Ta moko represents our New Zealand tradition back then because people like to represent the Ta moko as cultural New Zealanders. In each of the boxes are bits of what I know about te ta moko and some reasons of what I think about te ta moko, Old people that are in their 70s,80s and their 90s have them some of them have it done properly and fully but some just have bits of it on their chin.

But I think that the ta moko is some kinda legend about how maori people came to this land or how there were even maori people. My feeling is that all of this has something to do with maori existent or other solutions why.

But here is another thought about te ta moko is that the ta moko is the permanent marking or “tattoo” as traditionally practised by maori.

Hunting Kat
